5th July: Left Murchison House station and headed south, stopping at the Kalbarri Dump point, along the way to the Pink Lake near Port Gregory. The Lake is apparently pink because it contains the algae Dunaliella salina which produces B carotene which turns the water pink. The vegetation totally changed to arable land
We refuelled at Geraldton and had a brief look at the surrounding area without going to the centre of town. We continued on to Nambung Station- a sheep and cattle property bordering on the Painted desert, which makes extra money from camping provision.
We had a welcome hot shower followed by an omelette for dinner
