21th July: The best laid plans… at 5.30am it started raining with high winds that continued all morning. We therefore did not go to the Eyre Bird Observatory! Fortunately we remained snug in our caravan with our diesel heating and Starlink!
In the afternoon it cleared enough for us to go for an 8.5km walk down the embankment and along the road to the Observatory a couple of kms to check out the condition of the road for the Prado. The weather then closed in again with rain and wind.
If the weather is perfect tomorrow, which is highly unlikely we will go to the Observatory, but we are very much aware that we are alone and if we get bogged help is a very long way away.
I cooked up our remaining vegetables into a Vegie pasta sauce rather than lose them at the border. We needed a red wine to warm us up!
I started the task of constructing spread sheets of our trip expenses just for fun!
