July 20th. Woke up to beautiful woodland surroundings in the morning light. As we were leaving some butcher birds-a male and a female- came to say hello. We travelled along the straight highway one as the woodland thinned out to reach Caiguna blowhole- a hole in the ground connected to caves under the Nullarbor and aerating them. As we peered over the edge a loud sound of rushing air could be heard. We then reached Caiguna roadhouse where we played a par 4 with a short dog leg to the left. We then proceeded to Cocklebiddie for another par 4 which amazingly actually had a ladies tee and no trees just low shrubs between us and the hole!

We drove on in search of Eyre Bird Observatory . We camped on the escarpment at the Lookout, ready for a visit to the Observatory tomorrow via a 4WD road unsuitable for caravans.

We had an omelette with vegetables and cheese with a G & T preceding!
