12th May: We had a wonderfully refreshing swim in the pool at the base of Florence Falls, shared with a number of others plus some fish! We then went on a drive to explore other waterfalls in the area off the Litchfield Park Road. We started with Tolmer Falls which we could only view from the distance with the cliffs and gorge at the bottom being reminiscent of Kings Canyon.

We then went to Wangi Falls with a large flow of water over them. A saltwater crocodile had been seen recently there so the pool at the base of the Falls was inaccessible for swimming. We called in at the Tabletop Swamp supposedly a site for bird watching but we didn’t manage to see any birds!

We then called into a beautiful rock hole- Buley Rockhole-but fully occupied by many teenagers having a great time as water rushed over them!

Then home for biscuits and cheese followed by vegetable stir fry and basmati rice
