May 11th, actually written on the morning of the 12th with WiFi provided by our  Starlink modem installed on our caravan roof via our skylight, which even has a pull across fly screen! Technology in its place!

We travelled from Darwin to Litchfield National Park and then to Florence Falls camping ground- the 2WD one which has slightly bigger campsites than the older 4WD one. It has 6 flushing toilets and 5 hot and cold showers. Good value for our $15 per head per night! .It is an incredibly peaceful site amongst the Cluster palms otherwise known as Florence Falls Palms. Around us is a Savannah woodland mixed with monsoon rainforest bordering the Falls. We did a loop walk to the Falls where there is a delightful swimming spot, which we will swim in this morning! I heard lots of birds but only saw white throated honeyeater and lots of butterflies.

While I was cooking our evening meal I became aware of a tree full of noisy birds- unmistakably rainbow bee-eaters, confirmed with my binoculars!

We had a Shakshuka made delicious with chillie jam for dinner. We watched “the Piano”- the most delightfully moving program where ordinary people talk about their relationship with the piano, how it changed their lives, and then play extraordinarily!
